MUN UPDATES
Be sure to follow this page along with the GroupMe updates (our main method of communication) for important information. This page will mainly discuss what we do in meetings, and will not be as up to date as our GroupMe.

We had our last Model UN meeting last Saturday at Southwyck Park! We closed out the 2017-2018 Model UN year with a day of kickball, chips, salsa, frisbees, and music. Stay tuned for more MUN updates. Until August...so long!
At this meeting we discussed current issues.
1. Bring the $40 delegate fee in cash or in check. If paying by check, make it out to: Houston Area Model UN, PO Box 667049 Houston, TX 77266-7049 (include the address) 2. Meet in the cafeteria on both days by 7:15. We may need to leave anyone who comes too late. 3. Make sure to have the two forms below printed out and signed. It is mandatory. If you can't print it, you can ask for some copies from me (Emmanuel). 4. Bring money for food. There are multiple restaurants near where we are having the Conference. Some of which are McDonald's, Chick-Fil-A, and Panda Express. You need enough money for 2 lunches and 2 dinners. 5. Bring your phone charger. Tips for HAMUN discussed in the meeting:
To be edited...
Please work on your position papers. The first one is due on December 8 at 11:59pm, which is this Friday. All the information you may need to write your paper is in the Position Papers page, which can be found under the main Conference website tab. When you are done please message us on Remind. If you finish early, we may be able to give you some constructive criticism. Today we planned to have a discussion about "Streamlining and Incentivizing Cost-Effective Green Energy Investments for Underdeveloped Nations". However, due to various reasons we had a brief discussion about HAMUN with several members and briefly watched the Simpson's Model UN episode instead.
Below are the official committee assignments for HAMUN 2018. There are some small changes from the assignments we sent out earlier via Remind. So, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us.
